Streets: “Urban Forms Gallery” Roundup (Poland)

The organizer of the Urban Forms Gallery project in Poland, Michael Biezynski, recently sent over some photos of the wall murals to share with our readers. It is rare to say that we enjoyed all the work from every artist that participates in various festivals or events, but in this rare case, we were quite impressed with what every artist created including some that we were not familiar with. Check out what Aryz, Remed, Kenor, M-City, Etam Crew, Sat One, and Sepe/Chazme had to offer [...]

Openings: “De Dentro e De Fora” @ São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP)

A couple nights ago, the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) played host to the opening of De Dentro e De Fora or Inside Out Outside In, seemingly a repeated title for many recent street art exhibitions and videos in some variation or another. Although the name of the exhibition lacked originality, what was important (the art) more than made up for it. Curated by Mariana Martins, Baixo Ribeiro, and Eduardo Saretta, the show featured new works by familiar names to AM readers like Invader [...]

Showing: “Hall of Fame (Part 3)” @ David Bloch Gallery (Morocco)

Currently showing in Morocco at the David Bloch Gallery is their summer group show, apparently part 3 of their Hall of Fame series. Of interest, among a group of international artists, is the inclusion of some artists we follow like Dave Kinsey, Augustine Kofie, and Remed. The show runs through August, so stop by if you happen to be in Marrakech. Otherwise, take a look at some pics Kinsey sent us after the jump…

Streets: REMED (Memphis)

Getting up in the unlikely locale of Tennessee, Madrid-based REMED aka Guillaume Alby painted this mural for UrbanArt, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to development of public art in Memphis. Entitled Man & Woman Facing Each Other, the wall is a perfect example of the Spanish street artist’s organic geometry and lesser seen letter work. Located on Broad Avenue and commissioned by Loeb Properties, the large-scale piece features a man and woman reclining, facing each other.  He is connected to the sun, and she to [...]

Streets: Basel Week Miami ’10 Overview (Part I)

Whether the artists were participating on the legal walls like Primary Flight, Wynwood Walls, Graffiti Gone Global, or just freelancing it, there were certainly many new pieces thrown up for this year’s Art Basel Week Miami. You have already seen us focus in on some work from Ron English, Shepard Fairey, Gaia and Jeff Soto, but check more work in Part I of our overview of the murals. Pics we gathered after the jump…

Brooklynite Gallery launches online shop

Bed Stuy’s one and only Brooklynite Gallery has just added an online shop to their Web site, which contains a nice selection of well-priced prints and originals by the likes of emerging artists Ben Frost (pictured above), Remed, ZBIOK and others. The email announcement went out earlier this morning, and already a few pieces have sold, so it seems that at least someone out there is in the holiday shopping spirit. If you are still in need of that perfect gift for your art lover [...]
