Coming up on April 13th, both the London and Rome spaces of Dorothy Circus Gallery will be collectively holding a group show entitled Mother and Child. The subject of the work for the exhibition can be deeply personal, while artists can also take inspiration from the familiar motif utilized throughout art history – the most famous being depictions of Madonna and child. Previews: Marion Peck – “StraVolti” @ Dorothy Circus Gallery (Rome)

On Saturday night (April 21st) in Rome, Marion Peck will be unveiling her newest body of work entitled StraVolti at Dorothy Circus. Influenced by Picasso and Cubism, the Pacific Northwest-based artist has created a new series of surreal portraits that redefines the definition of beauty. Currently in the gallery’s London location, Peck also has a show on view featuring some of her older works and drawings. Upcoming: Marion Peck – “StraVolti” @ Dorothy Circus Gallery (Rome)

Coming up at the end of next month (April 21st), Dorothy Circus in Rome will be opening a new solo from Marion Peck entitled StraVolti. Returning to show in the capital city for the first time in more than a decade, the American artist has prepared 11 oil paintings on canvas that mix her surreal imagery with inspiration from European art and cultural tradition. Extensively utilizing natural materials in her work like powdered mineral pigments on paper, cloth and wood, together with acrylic paint, the Japanese artist has created a new body of work that lingers between reality and the dream world. Recap: Seth – “Range Ta Chabre” @ Teatro India (999 Contemporary)

As previously reported, on the 7th of July, after two months of participating in 999 Foundation’s Artist Resistance Residency in Rome, Seth aka Julien Malland opened his solo show entitled Range Ta Chambre (Clean Up Your Room). Placed in an abandoned soap factory, the exhibition turned out to be quite an experience.
