Utilizing the figurative part of his imagery as a repeating theme, the NY-based artist focused instead on the background, colorways, patterns, and the surrounding abstract elements. Combining old and the new in technique, medium, and style, the work on display break the boundaries of collage, painting and drawing. Wanting authentic […]

Armory Week ’10: Pulse New York

Everyone knows the story of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” where a picky little girl chooses between different bowls of hot cereal etc. to find the one that suits her. Well, sometimes we feel kinda like Goldilocks at art fairs, where some feel too big and others too small. However, more often than not, during the weeks of Art Basel and Armory, Pulse is the one that fits just right, and this year was no exception. As far as size goes, Pulse got it right […]

Gallagher, who is a collage artist himself, invited a diverse international selection of more than thirty participants, all of whom create their work by pasting, stapling, tying, sewing, gluing or otherwise assembling different images or items together, either manually or digitally. With so many multifaceted art works, the impact is visually overwhelming when first entering the gallery, but […]
