Between 8th of July and 9th of September 2018 a series of six individual exhibitions will be on view in Macao, organized as a part of the annual art exhibition program between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries. Streets: Vhils – “Caniçada Dam Project” (Portugal)

Recently at the in Caniçada Dam in Northern Portugal, Vhils (interviewed) completed a striking new mural chiseled directly into the face of the water barrier. Created through EDP’s program of beautifying Portuguese dams with art and architecture, the new piece utilizing the Lisbon-based artist’s unique mark-making abilities features a “face inspired by the workers who gave their body and soul to the building of the dam, surrounded by a group of children and tree elements.” Take a look at more photos below… Photo credit: EDP & Pedro Santasmarinas […]

Following up on our sharing of murals, interventions, and print releases related to the Splash And Burn initiative (started by artist Ernest Zacharevic) in Sumatra, we now have photos of the latest mural completed Vhils. Streets: Vhils x Retna (Los Angeles)

Following a collaborative wall with Shepard Fairey (covered) while in Los Angeles for his solo show (covered) a couple week ago, Vhils recently created another mural with a high profile artist. The latest piece (with support from Branded Arts) features one of the Portuguese artist’s signature chiseled portraits surrounded by RETNA’s (featured) instantly recognizable urban script. Festival Iminente (previewed) opened recently and will bring two days of art and music to London’s Brick Lane. The festival serves as both a celebration of Portuguese and pan-European culture and a warning of what may be lost as a result of the UK’s exit from the European Union. Vhil‘s cast concrete sculpture is based upon a sketch which he drew on a previous trip to the capital.
