We at AM are already looking forward to Greg “Craola” Simkins (featured) solo show this summer after seeing a taste of what’s to come. Expected to fill both rooms of Joshua Liner gallery come June, we can only salivate thinking about the monster body of work that Greg is working. We’ll have more to follow as the show draws closer but perhaps this commission he did recently for Everlast can whet your appetite. Discuss Craola here.

Yoshitaka Amano’s “Deva Loka : Los Angeles” show (previewed) opened this past weekend at LeBasse Projects. Not surprisingly, the cosplay (also seen here & here) fans were out in full force for the japanese artist who is famous for his work in Vampire Hunter D and the Final Fantasy video games. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the death of Keith Haring, the Tony Shafrazi Gallery recently opened a gallery-wide tribute to the graffiti legend and 80s New York art superstar. The show contains iconic paintings, drawings and sculptures with Haring’s bold lines and energetic characters. See all the images from the show, after the jump.

Last year, we told you about the video that Murakami, Kirsten Dunst and McG were creating to be shown at the Tate Modern “Pop Life” exhibition (here). You can now see entire crazy video, (Update: We have removed the link to the video which was apparently uploaded without the authorization of Kaikai Kiki.) “Akihabara Majokko Princess”, which depicts Kirsten running around the streets of Akihabara in wild cosplay costumes while singing a cover of the Vapors’ “Turning Japanese”. For one of Deitch Projects last hurrahs, the gallery will host “Bowery Boys,” an exhibition of new paintings by Rosson Crow. For the show, which opens March 4, Crow has used her adopted town of NYC as the theme for her bright and energetic large-scale canvases. Mogul Damon Dash has successfully navigated the world of media and fashion for years from his Manhattan home base. Now, he’s turning his focus on the world of art. Last weekend, AM was on hand for the private opening of the Dash Gallery in the heart New York’s storied Tribeca district. Shaquille O’Neal’s curatorial debut opened at Flag Art Foundation this past Friday to a mass of curious art fans. A line filled the lobby just for the elevator up to the duplex gallery space on the 9th and 10th floor.
