Last weekend, the traveling museum exhibition “TRANSFER” opened it’s doors at the new Brazilian Cultural Pavilion. In 2008, the first edition of the event was held at Santander Cultural in Porto Alegre, Brazil’s largest city in its southern region. This year, the show featuring “contemporary visual art, street art, skateboarding, independent music, as well as underground comics and fanzine art from the last two decades” is set in the cradle of Brazilian street art, Sao Paulo, hoping to duplicate or exceed the 80,000 visitors that […]

Streets: Nick Walker – “Nutterfly” in NYC

Nick Walker (interviewed) spent the past two weeks in New York City hitting up various spots with his special brand of stencil magic. He invited AM along on some interactive action with the local urban landscape – some legal and some well … let’s just keep it on the downlow. Scouting the Chelsea/meatpacking district for “prime & available” real estate can be tad difficult at 3 pm in the afternoon, but after a few laps at the usual haunts, we stumbled across the classic mural […]

He will also be releasing a second volume of his postcard collection with Circus Posterus and will be revealing his design for their upcoming skelve figure at the booth. Of course, he will […]

Video: Faile – “Temple” @ PortugalArte ’10 (Vernissage TV)

After sharing some photos of the impressive Faile (featured) installation with you recently, we now bring you some video footage from Vernissage TV. Seeing the “Temple” in the context of the surrounding architecture in Praça dos Restauradores, one of the major squares in the center of Lisbon, definitely gives us more of an appreciation of what the Patricks accomplished. Not only did they fully execute a temple in “ruins” with their signature imagery, the Brooklyn duo were able to create something that fit in perfectly […]

The large mural was even more impressive when you consider that it was all painted/stenciled as opposed to the usual wheatpaste. More images of this piece and others after the jump as well […]
