On August 16th, Javier Calleja will be opening a new show at Galerie Zink in Hamburg entitled Fake is the future. The fresh work from the Spanish artist, who apprenticed with Yoshitomo Nara, evokes a similar aesthetic his own version of cartoonish wide eyed children. Featuring 10 new artworks ranging from canvasses, works on paper, and mural paintings the exhibition promises to be an immersive experience challenging attendees to ask “if the reality we perceive is truthful or otherwise, manipulated and disguised.”
