Showing: “Greatest Hits” Banksy Exhibition @ Lazinc

Last week, Lazinc in London opened a show featuring some of Banksy’s most iconic works (gleaned from private collections), focusing in on the 2002-2008 period of his career. Coinciding with some of the time Steve Lazarides spent as the elusive street artist’s photographer and gallerist, the work curated for the exhibition include stenciled canvases, unique paintings, sculptural pieces, limited-edition prints and more. Although not officially sanctioned by Banksy, the 40 or so pieces (supposedly not for sale) assembled along with Lazarides’ (who hasn’t spoken to the […]

Brad Kunkle // FindShadow App

Artist Brad Kunkle recently shared a piece he painted that holds deep meaning for him, inspired by the 39 days it took for him to be reunited with his lost dog Shadow in 2015. Entitled The Golden Corridor and embellished with the New York-based artist’s practice of using of gold leaf, the diptych is steeped in symbolism from circumstances surrounding the incident. The painting now hangs in the offices of FindShadow in Downtown Manhattan, an app Kunkle helped create when he realized technology could lead to […]

Felice Varini Carcassonne Installation

Visible from May to September 2018, Felice Varini’s latest project is a striking installation at the medieval fortress of Carcassonne in Southern France. Spread on the west front of the city fortifications, 15 yellow circles (composed of temporary thin aluminium strips) all come together perfectly in the field of vision when standing facing one of the gates and is characteristic of the Swiss artist’s geometric perspective-localized paintings. The project from the Paris-based Varini celebrates the 20th anniversary of the inscription of the city on the world heritage […]
