Continuing with our coverage of Basel Week Miami, AM wanted to highlight another tantalizing find from the Scope/Art Asia fair: Wang Zhi Jie Wang Zhi Jie is a contemporary artist from China that wields a skillful brush and conjures up some very sexy and appealing imagery. He specializes in drawing “innocent girls” conducting what are perceived to be provocative actions. Gen Art Vanguard Art Fair Show @ Carmichael Gallery

Openings: Yoshitomo Nara @ Blum & Poe

Last night marked the opening of Yoshitomo Nara’s solo show at Blum & Poe (previewed and teased). The show features a large scale sculptural installation, and a new series of paintings and drawings focusing on Nara’s signature pastel-hued girls. At the center of the exhibition was a prairie-style wagon installation by YNG, a collaboration between Yoshitomo Nara and Japanese design firm Graf.
