Although it has only been several days since we first reported on the start of a massive new 3D mural that Os Gemeos are working on for the Vancouver Biennale, twin brothers Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo have already made huge progress on this project. With the return of our Streets: World Roundup feature, we first want to bring your attention to a new mural from Blu in Sardinia, Italy. The wall he painted once again showed his skills with large-scale imagery while working around architectural features of his surface. Streets: Pejac (Paris)

Pejac (introduced) recently visited Paris and left a several new pieces scattered around the city. We just got these images of the last three pieces he did there, and even though quite different in their concept and style, they are examples of his wittiness and talent. Using just a basic color palette (mostly black and white) with minimal intervention onthe surface he is painting on, the Spanish artist achieves strong pieces both aesthetically and conceptually. Streets: Swoon for Djerbahood (Tunisia)

Another artist who traveled to Tunisia for the Djerbahood Project (coverage here) was the Brooklyn-based Swoon (interviewed). She joined the long list of artists invited by Galerie Itinerrance to beautify the North African island. Working with her distinctive imagery and the village architecture, she certainly put up some compelling pieces for the locals to enjoy. After putting in her time on this project, she returned home to learn that she was nominated for the Smithsonian Biennial James Dicke Contemporary Artist Prize. Streets: El Mac (Toronto)

El Mac was finally able to leave the States for the first big mural project he has done out of the country since having struggled with health issues as of late. Thankfully, it looks like he has recovered nicely with his skills intact from the looks of this stunning piece that was commissioned by Eventscape in Toronto. The wall adjacent to the Gardiner Expressway was executed in collaboration with Montreal’s STARE and Toronto’s KWEST, who contributed on the background. Discuss El Mac here.

Os Gemeos are currently in Vancouver working on an impressive outdoor project organized by the Vancouver Biennale. Painting six large silos, on the full 360 degree surface covering 23,500 square feet (7,162 square metres), this is going to be their biggest mural to date, and their first one in Canada. With this project, the twins are joining the impressive roster of international artists including Ai Weiwei, Andy Goldsworthy, Vik Muniz and Jonathan Borofsky in transforming Vancouver into an open air museum for the 2014-2016 Vancouver Biennale. Streets: Phlegm for Djerbahood (Tunisia)

Continuing our tour of the amazingly extensive street art festival (coverage here) put on by Galerie Itinerrance in Tunisia, we now turn our attention to Phlegm. Creating a series of small murals on abandoned structures, the UK-based artist played around with the architectural elements and painted appropriately placed windows and doors for his signature characters to interact with. The end result are some of our favorite pieces yet for the Djerbahood Project. Discuss Phlegm here.
