Auction: Polaroid Collection via Sotheby’s

Now that the Polaroid Corporation has gone into bankruptcy, it leaves behind a legacy not only in your fond childhood memories of snapping away your day’s activities without a care, but also in an important collection of instant photographs by some of the best artists of the 20th century.  In an effort to raise money to pay their creditors, that collection will soon head into auction courtesy of Sotheby’s, with the remaining pieces to be sold via private sales. Openings: VICE Photo Exhibition (2009 Photo Issue Launch) @ Printspace

Everyone’s favorite FREE subversive culture, art, photo, and music magazine, VICE, is soon releasing their annual Photo Issue.  To celebrate, VICE, in association with G-Shock, will be hosting a photo exhibition.  The launch event will be held on Aug 12th at The Printspace in London.  The show will remain there for two weeks before touring to Spain, Italy, and France. Preview: Ryan McGinley – “Moonmilk” @ Alison Jacques Gallery

AM is excited to bring you one of the best solo exhibition previews of the summer.  Ryan McGinley returns behind the lens with his young models who spurn the annoyances of clothing to explore exotic, unknown, and undiscovered locations.  Their voyeuristic adventures were documented and will be shown in September in a highly anticipated show that features 24 brand-new (28 total), never before seen photographs at Alison Jacques Gallery in London.
