Three months since its debut at the Seattle Art Fair (covered), the Juxtapoz x Superflat group show co-curated by Juxtapoz editor, Evan Pricco and Takashi Murakami opened on the November 5th at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Staying on view until February 5th, the programming included a mixture of talks, lectures, tours, and special guests. Currently showing at Monnaie de Paris, Not Afraid of Love is Maurizio Cattelan’s largest exhibition since his retrospective in New York five years ago (covered). Previews: KAWS – “Where The End Starts” @ Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth

As we previously mentioned, on October 20th, a major survey of the work of KAWS will be opening at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, following up on his 2011 show at the same institution (covered). Organized by The Modern’s curator Andrea Karnes in close collaboration with the artist, the exhibition and the accompanying catalogue explore the development of the artist’s career from the 1990s to the present. With approximately 100 works on view, this large show will give an overview of his formal, conceptual, and collaborative developments. Showing: Swoon – “Thalassa” @ Detroit Institute of Arts

At the end of last month, Swoon (interviewed) unveiled the latest iteration of her Thalassa installation at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Fans of the her work can check out the suspended sculptural piece at the Woodward Avenue entrance through the end of May of next year. This display of Swoon’s work will round out nicely her contributions to the art scene of the Motor City to go along with her exhibition opening soon at Library Street Collective as well as a mural project in the Jefferson-Chalmers district.
