Last night in Amsterdam, LUDO (interviewed) opened his third solo of the year at The Garage, bookending what has been a decidedly impressive and pervasive year both on the streets and indoors. Just the other night, the Alice Gallery in Brussels played host to a new body of work from Boris Tellegen aka Delta. The Amsterdam-based abstract graffiti specialist has been hitting up various parts of Europe recently with his art projects and shows including large-scale sculptural pieces in March at the Muziekgebouw Concert Hall in his home-city (covered) and then Basel, Switzerland for a showing at the kunstraum.ch artspace (covered) in July. This past weekend, the Known Gallery presented their latest exhibit titled White Wash which featured artwork from graffiti artist POSE and photography by KC Ortiz.  Starting with POSE, his work featured fifteen new works which filled the gallery’s main floor. Over the weekend, the Corey Helford Gallery debuted a new collection of work from artist and visual satirist Ron English (featured). Titled Seasons in Superbia, the show featured the NY-based artist’s ironic take on everything ranging from Peanuts characters to other pop culture icons from the comic book world, film, and animation. Last week, Galerie Perrotin paid host to French photographer and street artist JR in their Paris showspace when he displayed a new body of work entitled Encrages. Featuring his outdoor technique translated onto smaller found objects, the exhibition brought together many of the TED prize winner’s previous projects as we talked about in our studio visit leading up to the show. AM recently visited Taiwan to catch  Ai Weiwei’s absent exhibition at the TFAM (Taipei Fine Arts Museum). As the show’s title implies, Ai Weiwei was not present for the opening as he’s still working on clearing his previous “issues” with his home country’s government. This museum show of the controversial Chinese artist is practically a retrospective ,with spanning works from 1983-present, giving the people of Taiwan a taste of the talent and unique point of view that Ai brings to the table.
