Currently showing at Monnaie de Paris, Not Afraid of Love is Maurizio Cattelan’s largest exhibition since his retrospective in New York five years ago (covered). Alongside Sandra Chevrier (interviewed) showing in the main space (covered) of Thinkspace in Los Angeles, Sean Mahan also presented a small solo show in the project room. Openings: Sandra Chevrier – “The Cages; and the Reading Rooms of their Lives”

Last weekend, Thinkspace in Los Angeles opened a solo show from Sandra Chevrier (interviewed) entitled The Cages; and the Reading Rooms of their Lives. The new body of work featured the Canadian artist’s signature portraits of women with painted and collaged comic book facial overlays with some of the pieces featuring a physically removable “mask” of superheroes. Releases: Rostarr x Nike Running Collection

Nike recently released their collaboration with Romon Kimin Yang (Rostarr) featuring his calligraphy-inspired imagery on a selection of running footwear and apparel. While working with the company on the design of the collection, the New York-based artist was inspired by run crew culture and marathons leading him to embed abstract runners into his pattern of brushstrokes. On November 5th, Natalia Fabia (interviewed) will be opening a new show at Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, her first solo in four years. Mark Jenkins’ solo show Knock Knock is currently on view at Ruttkowski;68 in Cologne, Germany. His third exhibition with the gallery includes around 15 new sculptural pieces in the style that he has been creating for the past 13 years. Releases: Mark Drew – “Deez Nuts” Prints

One of Australian artist and graphic designer Mark Drew’s most popular series of works are his genius mashups of the Peanuts comics and 90s rap. These paintings collectively entitled Deez Nuts were originally covered by us in 2013 when he had a showing at his China Heights Gallery in Sydney.
