Moniker ’17 / Previews: Kevin Peterson @ Thinkspace Gallery

Another artist showing with Thinkspace at the Moniker Art Fair (which opened today) in London was Kevin Peterson. Joining Brian Viveros (previewed), Audrey Kawasaki (previewed), Cinta Vidal, David Cooley, Dulk, and Telmo Miel with solo booths, the Houston-based artist contributed more of his signature paintings with children and their animal companions in urban environments, with a crown being the common denominator that draws this new body of work together. Previews: Kevin E. Taylor – “Dead Evidence” @ Cordesa Fine Art

This Saturday night (October 7th) in Los Angeles, Cordessa Fine Art will be presenting a new body of work from Kevin E. Taylor. Entitled Dead Evidence, the recently produced paintings are loosely adapted from Larry Sultan and Mike Mandel’s photo series Evidence. Continuing his exploration of intriguing imagery that brings surreal elements into museum or gallery settings, the San Francisco-based artist deals with themes such as how “humankind’s urgent march toward technological advancement accelerates, yet our mortality constantly grounds us.” Discuss Kevin E. Frieze Week London ’17 / Previews: KAWS @ Perrotin Gallery

One booth you don’t want to miss while in London for Frieze Week will be the Perrotin booth as they have dedicated their entire space to KAWS. Showing: Mark Jenkins & Rero – “Rules of Engagement” @ Wunderkammern

Rules of Engagement, a joint show from Mark Jenkins (interviewed) and Rero, is currently on view at Wunderkammern and will run until October 28th. The exhibition at the gallery’s Milan venue features the American Jenkins bringing his signature and often ski-masked sculptural pieces in from the streets while still retaining the cleverness and grittiness in the indoor setting. Tonight (September 30th) at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles, Andy Kehoe will be opening a solo show entitled PRISMATIC. The new mystical paintings continue the Pittsburgh-based artist’s expansion of his fantastical world filled with mysterious antlered creatures often set against the background of luminous and polychromatic skies. Kehoe’s technique of combining resin with oil paint gives the work a dimensionality that adds to the richness and texture of his compositions. Release: Nick Walker – “Manhattan Bridge” Print

Nick Walker (interviewed) will have a new print entitled Manhattan Bridge on sale on Monday, 2nd October at 2.30pm GMT. The print features the artist’s gentleman vandal character walking across the streets of NY looking at the Manhattan Bridge. The 12 colour silk print is produced in an edition of 99 on Somerset Velvet 300 gsm paper and sized at 74 cm x 95 cm. It will be available for £450 online here at the appropriate time.
