Preview: Invader – “Low Fidelity” @ Lazarides (Rathbone Place)

Fresh off his show at Jonathan LeVine with WK Interact in June, Invader hits the gallery circuit again, this time at Lazarides – Rathbone Place. “Low Fidelity” opens this Friday, August 14th and will include sculptures, mosaics, drawings, a new series of Rubik classic album covers (his tribute to Michael Jackson seen above). Preview: VICE Photo Exhibition 2009 Launch @ Printspace, London

Everyone’s favorite FREE subversive culture, art, photo, and music magazine, VICE, is soon releasing their annual Photo Issue.Â To celebrate, VICE, in association with G-Shock, will be hosting a photo exhibition.Â The launch event will be held on Aug 12th at The Printspace in London.Â The show will remain there for two weeks before touring to Spain, Italy, and France. New York City’s Dennis McNett, who teaches printmaking at the Pratt Institute, is in Los Angeles to present “Year of the Wolfbat” at Thinkspace Gallery, a special two-day show opening tomorrow, Saturday, August 8th from 7-11PM. We found a couple more images from Josh Keyes‘ upcoming show to share with you since our first teaser article. Opening along with Vaughn Bell in a show entitled â€œNatural Selectionâ€ at the Swarm Gallery this Friday (Aug 7th), Josh should only have four pieces.Â Keyes’ fans will treat this as an appetizer to his big show atÂ Jonathan Levine coming up in Dec/Jan in New York. Two of the most original voices working in street and gallery settings today, Chris Stain and Armsrock, have what looks to be an outstanding show coming up at Ad Hoc Art this Friday, August 7th. Both artists capture moments of hope and dignity in urban life without romanticizing the challenges and despair. AM is excited to bring you one of the best solo exhibition previews of the summer.Â Ryan McGinley returns behind the lens with his young models who spurn the annoyances of clothing to explore exotic, unknown, and undiscovered locations.Â Their voyeuristic adventures were documented and will be shown in September in a highly anticipated show that features 24 brand-new (28 total), never before seen photographs at Alison Jacques Gallery in London. Carmichael Gallery is showcasing some ladies with a unique view on things in their latest show. “A Mirror Distorted” features Andrea Michaelsson (one half of Btoy), Cherri Wood, Pam Glew, and the dazzling details of our favorite South African transplant Candice Tripp (interviewed).
