Gary “Danger” Baseman has landed in Tel-Aviv in preparation for the January 8th opening of his latest solo exhibition at Israel’s Urbanix Gallery. (previously teased). For his upcoming show “Mythographic Vicissitudes,” Ron English created a series of paintings based on his interpretations of modern mythologies. Once again, Ron displays his versatility as this body of work features photorealistic painting, expressionism, drawings, a little of everything. He covers many topics, from bigfoot to UFOs to Jesus. Japan native Yumiko Kayukawa’s show “The Last 34” opens tomorrow night concurrently with Matt Dangler’s solo at M Modern Gallery. Yumiko is known for her fashionable women, colors, and Japanese motifs. For this show, she seems to have make use of more animal clusters – we love the composition in the piece seen above.
