Releases: Kid Acne – ‘Council Pop’ (screen-printed 10 year anniversary edition)

Kid Acne’s coming back through like an amber gambler with the re-release of his 2003 album Council Pop in a special 10 year anniversary edition (has it really been 10 years?). AM readers will probably be more familiar with the graffiti / street art side of Kid Acne’s creative output, but if you haven’t heard his Yorkshire infused hip hop, then this could be an ideal intro to the world of Eddy Fresh. Streets ahead of his debut Rap Traffic, Council Pop lacks some of the […]

Releases: David Choe – “Blanket” Print

This upcoming Monday (June 17th), David Choe will be releasing a new print with Trapeze Editions at 9 pm (PST). Blanket is a giclee based on a watercolor he painted of a “sleeping beauty wrapped in a reality distortion force field” and will come in two different editions – (18 x 24″ for $448 and run of 48 & 27 x 36″ for $669 and run of 16). Each will be hand embellished so no two will be exactly alike. You can also apparently email Bobby […]

Releases: AJ Fosik – “Shining Deathless” Print

Sculptor AJ Fosik (see our studio visit here) is known for his wood-bashing skills, but in a slight departure from his more recent medium of choice, he is due to release a limited print this week. Shining Deathless bridges the gap between his sculpture and the print medium by the use of relief on this embossed, hand finished print (see the hand-carved brass used in the process below). The print comes in at 13” x 18” paper size with deckle edge and is  signed and numbered in […]

San Francisco-based Little Paper Planes has just released a series of three prints by Canadian artist Matthew Feyld. Coming in at a price of just $35 each and dimensions of 8.5″ x 11″, these prints look like great value in their signed and numbered editions of 50. LPP also just posted an interview with Feyld along with some pictures from his studio (seen above), so check that out too to find out a little more about his creative process. Discuss Matthew Feyld here.

Releases: Interesni Kazki – 2 Print Editions

Shortly after finishing their impressive mural on the streets of Lisbon (covered), Ukrainian artist duo Interesni Kazki released their print editions through Under-Dogs.net, as previously announced. For their 1st-ever edition, the artists picked one image each, and released 2 beautiful prints showcasing their recognizable work and unique style – AEC’s  50 X 50cm giclee “Generation”, and Waone’s 56 X 45,5cm giclee “Triad”. From their color palette to their fairytale-like imagery, both editions are a great example of what these 2 talented artists are usually painting on big […]

Review: Phlegm – Book of Pen and Ink Illustrations

British artist Phlegm recently announced the release of his long awaited book of illustrations. Based on the walls he painted all over the globe in the last couple of years, the book is a fantastic collection of his work as it usually begins – pen and ink drawings. From hand printed and embossed cover, for which he used his Documenting Everything There Ever Was And Will Be image (released as a limited edition print), to the last triple fold out page with his Civilization image (also released as […]

Releases: Kid Acne – ‘Oh My Days’ Screenprint

It was hard to miss Kid Acne‘s Oh My Days mural on the side of the Village Underground in London earlier this year. Here at AM we love the Acne sloganeering approach to graffiti and oh happy days that the boy Ackers has just released a screenprint based upon the huge wall. Oh My Days is a 2 colour screenprint, signed numbered and embossed in an edition of 50 and available right now via his shop. Discuss Kid Acne here.

Signings: Mark Ryden – “The GAY 90s & Pinxit” @ PK Shop

At the beginning of the month, AM paid the PK Shop a visit to attend the signing of two monographs from Mark Ryden. The newer of the two, The Gay 90s, published by Rizzoli, illustrates the works included Ryden’s 2010 exhibition The Gay 90s: Old Thyme Art Show at Paul Kasmin Gallery (covered) while Pinxit by Taschen is a more comprehensive overview of the low brow luminary’s paintings organized by the themes of his major exhibitions. Take a look at the events of the night in the photos below […]

German photographer Nils Müller recently published his second book titled Vandals with the official release on the May 1st, which will be followed by a gallery show at Ruttkowski68 (Cologne, Germany) opening on May 24th. Similar to his last book Blütezeit, published back in 2008, this latest volume covers the rarely exposed lives of urban vandals, and is released in regular and limited edition (limited to 500 signed copies now available for pre-order). Publications: VNA Issue 22

Our friends at team VNA are at it again! Now onto issue 22 and hot off the presses featuring Vhils (filmed) on the cover, along with some favourites of ours between the sheets such as AJ Fosik, Blaine Fontana, Cranio, Husk Mit Navn and Moneyless as VNA continues to spread it’s wings further afield than the graffiti and street art base it started out with. Also, it looks like the VNA crew are moving HQ in the near future as well, so peep their store for some […]
