Another Update: Josh Keyes – “Collision” @ David B. Smith Gallery

We couldn’t resist posting another teaser pic that is possibly (there’s a good chance it’s a commission piece also due to its size) for Josh Keyes‘ (interviewed) upcoming show at David B. Smith Gallery. This monster piece (perhaps 120″ x 40″?) looks to be an further exploration of the “Sowing” concept that we first saw in his Swarm Gallery show last year. We can’t wait to see the completed piece when the show “Collision” opens in November. Discuss Josh Keyes here.

Teasers: Hush – “Distant Portrait Series” @ Shooting Gallery NYC Pop-Up

We recently gave you a look at the latest batch of work that Hush (interviewed) has been working on. Teaser: Tara McPherson – “The Bunny in the Moon” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

Featured next month in New York at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery will be the bittersweet art from the “Queen of Hearts” Tara McPherson. We’ll be looking forward to seeing what adventures are in store for her signature redheads with their heart motifs (see Dr. Sketchy session), but we’re sure the new body of work will also bring some other surprises for her fans. After an extensive tour around the world, with sweet murals dropped on every location, it seems that El Mac has settled down to work on a new body of indoor work. “The Humble and Sublime” will open October 14th at the Joshua Liner Gallery and will be his first show in New York. Teaser: Audrey Kawasaki – “Tangled” @ Outre Gallery (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth)

For those of you who have been waiting with baited breath since Audrey Kawasaki’s (interviewed) show in NY (covered) for a new body of work, it’s almost time. Next month in Australia, she’ll be splitting her 10 new original paintings between Outre Gallery’s two locations in Melbourne (10/22) and Sydney (10/29) along with a print only show in Perth (11/5). Teaser: Todd “REAS” James @ Galeria Javier López

On Wednesday, Todd James aka REAS’ will be opening his first solo show in Madrid at Galeria Javier López. Judging from the show card and sneak peeks, the work will be a continuation of his last solo earlier this year in New York at Gering & López. Those attending the show will see the Deitch Street Market alum’s vision of a “Great Adventure” sure to include soldiers, cartoonish tanks, bombs, blood, women, and more… Discuss Todd “REAS” James here.

Teaser: Martin Wittfooth – “Gardens” @ Roq La Rue

We recently saw a painting from Martin Wittfooth for his upcoming show at Roq La Rue and our jaws dropped – the phrase “next level” comes to mind. This beautiful new piece, “The Devil’s Playground”, will be part of a new body of work entitled “Gardens’ for the Seattle gallery in December.  We’ll have more to follow but take a look at the show card after the jump and you may see a theme developing as hinted at by the title of the show.
