Openings: James Jean – The “Birds and Boys” Series @ 3.1 Phillip Lim – Fashion’s Night Out

High fashion and fine art was exhibited in a seamless mix as James Jean unveiled his Birds and Boys series at 3.1 Phillip Lim during Fashion’s Night Out in West Hollywood. Jean’s fantastically cool portraits of the famous and the beautiful of Los Angeles were hung throughout the store, occupying the same racks as Lim’s elegantly designed threads. Teaser: Paul McCarthy – “Three Sculptures” @ L&M Arts, Los Angeles

Teaser: Aiko – “Here’s Fun For Everyone” @ Andrew James Art (Shanghai)

Aiko Nakagawa, who we have seen do some work in China before, returns again to the Middle Kingdom next month. The New York based artist will be bringing a new body of work entitled “Here’s Fun For Everyone” to the Shanghai, the site of some of the street pieces she put up last year. Teaser: Dan Quintana – “Ethos Astray” @ Last Rites Gallery

Dan Quintana, whom we last saw show at Copro Gallery in January, is opening a new exhibition at the Last Rites Gallery in New York this weekend. The new body of work entitled “Ethos Astry” will be sure to include Quintana’s beautiful women, often masked in elaborate headdresses with a grotesque twist.
