Video: Adam Wallacavage

Have you ever wondered what the house of an artist who sculpts octopus chandeliers looks like? Well, if so, you are in luck because Hurley has done a video profile of Philly-based sculptor and photographer Adam Wallacavage. You may remember said octopus chandeliers from our article about his work with Tarino Tarantino or his documentation of ESPO’s “A Love Letter For You” project. Releases: Ernesto Yerena – “Fidel” Print

Ernesto Yerena has a new project and this time, it’s of the Cuban leader Fidel Castro. Working with our friends at Modern Multiples (featured), Ernesto is set to release another dual editioned silk screened print on Hecho Con Ganas this Thursday (Feb 4th). Check out the print details and a video of Ernesto hand stenciling the piece after the jump.

While his former assistants Kevin Cyr and Jason Bryant opened their own show in NY, Kehinde Wiley was busy working with on a new World Cup project with PUMA in Africa. Tate Modern continues its “Tateshots” series with a video tour of their “Pop Life” show (covered). Their selection for the guest tour guide is none other than Jonathan Yeo, whose controversial portraits and artwork often utilize pornographic imagery. Openings: Glenn Barr / THH70 / Joey Seeman @ The 4th Wall Gallery

Glenn Barr’s show at The 4th Wall Gallery (previewed) opened last weekend in Dallas with a fantastic new body of work. Sprinkled among paintings of his signature vixens were serpent women, bird-girls and other hybrid creatures. To round out the show, he also had drawings, prints, and his “Happiness” bronze on display.
