On Thursday, Kaikai Kiki artist Mr. returned for a second showing with New York’s Lehmann Maupin Gallery. The former protégé of Takashi Murakami put forth a more serious body of work entitled Metamorphosis – Give Me Your Wings that was reflected in a dense installation that literally littered the space with common pop & household objects. Launching from Miami, Florida where he is preparing for his next exhibition, the French street artist was able to send his imagery into orbit with a helium balloon fitted with a camera to document it (and GPS to retrieve it). Other murals to admire on earth this week include work from Inti – […]

Just this Saturday night, Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) returned to New York City to share a new exhibition at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery. This fresh body of work entitled Midnight Reverie features new direction for the LA-based artist that has entranced fans of her innocently seductive paintings. Utilizing dark black grounds contrasted with vibrant hues, Audrey’s subject seem to pop more than ever. Don’t worry, new doesn’t mean the old goes away as this alteration in style still keeps her signature eyes at the center of attention. Each piece has […]
