Teaser: Giant Robot Biennale 2 @ Japanese American National Museum

Come the end of October, Giant Robot’s Biennale 2 Exhibition is opening at the Japanese American National Museum.  Here is the beginning of James Jean’s (interviewed) piece, entitled “Chhinnamasta.” Uh, yeah, don’t ask us what that is, ask wikipedia.  In any event, looks like an interesting show with some other great artists such as Jeff Soto (interviewed), David Choe, Souther Salazar, kozyndan, and Deth P. Last night, Elms Lester held a special private viewing as two top notch international artists visited the London gallery to show off their unique and contrasting geometric styles. The Dutch artist known as Delta (Boris Tellegen) showed off a diverse arsenal of new works (including sculptures, paintings and 3-D installation pieces) which depicted the complex layers and symmetry that we’ve come to expect from the graffiti artist. Saturday night, AM attended the opening of Joshua Liner Gallery’s summer group exhibition, which collects solid works from a very strong roster of artists, some of whom the gallery has shown previously and others of whom the gallery is working with for the first time. From the show, it is clear that Liner is actively evolving and maturing his gallery. And from the response from collectors and others at the opening, it seems that what he’s doing is working.
