Howard Griffin Gallery recently announced their upcoming off-site project in the industrial 14,000 square foot Ambika P3 exhibition space in central London. Tomorrow night (February 11th) in Detroit, Library Street Collective will be presenting new work from Sam Friedman in a show entitled LOVE SONGS. Continuing his deconstruction of natural landscapes, the New York-based artist has prepared a series of canvases as well as over 30 paintings on paper that revisit his earlier exploration of beach scenes and sunsets. KAWS Releasing Remaining Stock Of “BFF” Plush (Black Version)

For those who missed the original blue colorway of KAWS’ BFF plush (covered) in Thailand, there was another chance with the recent slate of black versions that were released in conjunction with his exhibition in Texas (covered). Limited to 3000, these were not easy to come by either but here is another opportunity for fans out there as the Brooklyn-based artist will be re-releasing some leftover stock tomorrow (9 PST) on his website for $200 each. Showing: Josh Reames – “Texting While Driving” @ Bill Brady

Showing through the end of this weekend in Miami is Josh Reames’ exhibition at Bill Brady Gallery. Entitled Texting While Driving, the new work features the imagery from the Brooklyn-based artist references the distracted driver with the random streams of information that seen with cursory glances in between giving attention to the cellphone. Also on display in the space are a series of traffic cone sculptures, presented in a variety of colors, heights, and conditions. Discuss Josh Reames here.

This Sunday, POW! WOW! Hawaii (more info here) kicks off with a re-occurring show curated by Thinkspace at the Honolulu Museum of Art School entitled Exploring The New Contemporary Movement (see 2016 & 2015 & 2014). As in the past, the format is 12 x 12″ works, leading to a visually congruent display of artworks, some of which were inspired by island life. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, James Jean (interviewed) will be offering up a new print entitled Lapins d’Amour. The signed and numbered time-limited edition will be available for 24 hours starting at 8:00 AM PST on Tuesday, February 14th and ending at 7:59 AM PST on Wednesday, February 15th and then never sold again. Featuring a holographic finish in the rabbits’ ears and on the embossment, the print has an image size of 10″ x 15-15/16″ and paper size of 13-7/16″ x 18-15/16″. Streets: RETNA // The Beauty Project (Mexico City)

Recently in Mexico City, RETNA (featured) was invited in to create public art for The Beauty Project México. Painting his distinct script at the Cuauhtemoc building in the Tlatelolco neighborhood, the Los Angeles-based writer spent a few days working on the 21 story twin structures, his tallest intervention to date. Other artist who will be joining the project in the upcoming weeks include Alexis CILER, Olivia Steele, Saner, AEC (Interesni Kazki), Ericailcane and others. Discuss RETNA here.
