Several weeks ago in London, the Cyrcle. crew opened up a new solo show at StolenSpace entitled Overthrone! Pooring Reign. Working with design elements mirrored in their recent street works (like for POW! WOW! Hawaii), the Los Angeles-based duo created pieces that dealt with ideas of the interplay of powers and how one’s mind can be used to conquer one’s fears. After attending this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii and completing a large collaborative mural for the event, Andrew Schoultz headed to Austin, Texas for his next project. Juxtapoz & Converse have teamed up to bring the Los Angeles-based artist to SXSW where he painted another big wall, this time with a sweet tank embellishment. After bringing you extensive coverage of this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii, it’s time to recap the rest of murals that we didn’t have time to focus on. Along with local artists, the muralists travelled from all over the world (like Defer & Norm whose calligraphy made a perfect background to Kamea Hadar’s overlaid face) to beautify the industrial district of Kaka’ako in Honolulu and to share in the aloha spirit. After taking part at this year’s Pow! Wow! Hawaii (covered), Know Hope is currently in New York City where he is setting up a mini solo show at the Scope Fair from the 6th until 9th of March. After seeing the sweet wave breakdancer that Andrew Hem (interviewed) painted for a show (covered) during POW! WOW! Hawaii, we are really looking forward to his exhibition opening next month at Merry Karnowsky Gallery. Entitled Dream But Don’t Sleep, the exhibition will feature the Los Angeles based artist’s dream-like paintings, always inspired by his Asian heritage as well as his travels and personal experiences. POW WOW ’14 & 1xRUN Prints & Show

The annual POW! WOW! art retreat in Hawaii starts this weekend and 1xRUN will be on site to work on a special show at Loft in Space / Fresh Cafe set to open on February 14th. They have also partnered with Pangea Seed, a local non profit, to exhibit prints from their archives and their new Sametan figure customized by over 30 artists.
