Legendary artist David Lynch recently got together with Dom Pérignon for a collaborative project. The American filmmaker, television director, visual artist, musician, and actor designed some limited versions of the Champagne brand’s bottles along with the packaging featuring the theme of flickering lights. Leading off our summary of videos this week is the inspiring story (from The Guardian) of Syrian cartoonist Ali Farzat, who founded Syria’s first satirical weekly, Ad Domani. Last weekend, the Thinkspace Gallery hosted the opening for the Morgan Spurlock (interviewed) curated New Blood. Not only did the group exhibition feature some talented artists, the showing was also centered on a novel concept of each invited artist also bringing along another promising artist to show alongside them. Kickstarter – “OBEY THE GIANT” Film

We have another great Kickstarter project for your consideration. Julian Marshall, a student at Shepard Fairey’s (featured) alma mater RISD, put together kind of an origins film for the street artist based on his time at the school. With a minimum of $30,000 needed to finish post-production, there are multiple levels of contributing with a tiered level of rewards depending on how much you give. Check it out here.
