It’s time we do another summary of public art from around the globe with another Street World Roundup feature. Leading things off is an impressive new anamorphic mural from eL Seed that covers almost 50 buildings in the neighborhood of Manshiyat Nasr in Cairo, Egypt. Recently in Berlin, Aaron Li-Hill (interviewed) finished up a sweet mural for the One Wall Project organized by Urban Nation. Entitled Rise and Fall, the new piece takes inspiration from the greek goddess of victory as well as the film Wings of Desire, both sourced from the background of the capital city. Navigating 24 windows on the facade of the building measuring five stories high, the wall painted ended up being Li-Hill’s largest one to date. Streets: Phlegm (Berlin)

Invited in by Urban Nation for their continuing series of public arts projects, British artist Phlegm recently painted this challenging mural on a corner building in Berlin. As part of the One Wall Project, the Sheffield-based artist expertly navigated the architectural details on these walls in the Schöneberg area and livened up the cityscape with his signature characters. Kamea Hadar x Tristan Eaton – “Pele, Maila, Hina” Mural

Last month, two veterans of POW! WOW! Hawaii joined forces to collaborate on an indoor installation for Olukai Shoes’ #anywherealoha campaign. Kamea Hadar traveled from the islands to Tristan Eaton’s homebase, Los Angeles, to join him in painting the mural entitled Pele, Maila, Hina. Steeped with symbolism from Hawaii, the piece blended Hadar’s portraiture with Eaton’s signatures patchwork style.
