Coming up on June 15th, the Ivory & Black Soho will be presenting their first group exhibition featuring artists Andrew Schoultz, Cleon Peterson, James Jean, Richard Colman and Ryan Travis Christian. Entitled Gin & Juice, the show features painters who hae been influenced by the Californian subcultures they hail from with diverse imagery ranging from the humorous, the macabre, the playful, the violent, to the idealistic.

After showing across the pond last year in London, Evan Hecox will returning to the states for his latest solo at the Joshua Liner Gallery, site of his last New York exhibition in 2009. Streets: JR (New York)

After a series of inspiring murals with Jose Parla in Cuba as part of his ever-expanding Wrinkles Of The City project and a TED Talk on the one year anniversary of his wish to turn the world Inside Out, JR has returned to New York for a new large-scale mural. Set next to the popular pedestrian walkway, The High Line, the piece took several days to complete and will be testament to the French photograffeur’s skills in a high-traffic location. Last Friday evening at FFDG marked the opening of Dave Kinsey’s first solo show in San Francisco in over a decade (previewed). After putting a new piece up at the revolving mural project Le M.U.R in Paris (covered), Vhils headed home to work on another wall in Lisbon. ArtPadSF hosted its second annual boutique art fair over the weekend, which coincides with ArtMrkt and SFFAF. Unlike your traditional art fair with booths, this one takes over the Phoenix Hotel in the heart of the Tenderloin District in San Francisco with each gallery taking up their own room in the hotel, which gives a more laid-back pop-up gallery vibe.
