AMÂ recently had a chance to sit down with Johann Haehling von Lanzenauer, Co-Director of the Circleculture Gallery in Berlin for a little talk about the history of the gallery and Johannâ€™s insight into the art world. Circleculture have been a long time supporter of the international underground art world and their current show SELF-PORTRAITS (covered) is not to be missed. Coachella-based artist duo the Date Farmers collaborated with the N.A.S.A (North America South America) project on a music video that premiered earlier this week. Entitled “A Volta,” the video featuring Sizzla, Amanda Blank, Love Foxxx definitely had the Mexican-American vibe going with the Date Farmer’s iconic robots creating havoc.Â Check out the behind the scenes details at Boing Boing. Invader will be having a solo show at Jonathan Levine Gallery at the end of June. Here’s a little video preview of his trademark “Rubickubism” process and a piece that will be at the show. AM was in attendance at the “F%#k Cancer! We Love Justin” silent art auction held at Poketo studios. You may not recognize Justin VanHoy’s name, but you’ve undoubtedly seen the work he’s done as art director of Swindle and his contributions to Obey Clothing, Cobra Snake and Wired Magazine. All proceeds from the event went directly to support Justin’s recovery from a successful bone marrow transplant after a relapse of lukemia. Hamburg-based collector Rik Reinking is displaying his collection of urban art for all to see at the Weserburg Museum in Germany. The show includes works from Herbert Baglione, Banksy, Blu, Boxi, Brad Downey, Mark Jenkins, Miss Van, Mode 2, Os GÃªmeos, Mirko Reisser (DAIM), Shepard Fairey, Space Invader, Swoon, Zevs among others. The exhibition will be supplemented by an attractive supporting program with workshops, walks through town, film evenings, discussions and work in the streets.
