Showing at the just opened Creatura House in Seattle, Travis Louie (interviewed) currently has a small selection of paintings and drawings on view. Entitled The Present Past, the exhibition at the former Roq La Rue owner Kirsten Anderson’s new gallery features Louie’s depiction of endangered animals in his vintage photo-like Victorian style. Openings: Takashi Murakami & Virgil Abloh – ‘Future History’ @ Gagosian (London)

Coinciding with London Fashion Week 2018, Superflat master Japanese artist Takashi Murakami continued his collaboration (covered) with American creative designer Virgil Abloh and presented a series of joint works entitled Future History at the Gagosian Gallery in London. The exhibition runs until April 7th and features large-scale paintings, sculptures and an installation drawing references to Abloh’s signature Off-White motifs alongside Murakami’s iconic cast of anime characters, reflecting incisively on the signs of the current times. Showing: Belin, Jaz and Lek – “Main Street” @ Rouen

After a previous edition in the largest museum of contemporary art in North Africa, the Mohammed VI Museum in Rabat, Morocco, the exhibition Main Street is now touring to Rouen in France . Three international artists Belin, Franco Fasoli, Lek are creating monumental installations within the Hangar 107. Spanish artist Belin painted a reclining nude with his ‘post neo-cubism’  style, while French artist Lek applied his signature geometric shapes directly onto the glass windows, and Argentinean artist Jaz created a colourful poetic narrative. The exhibition is running until April 3rd. Installation: Leandro Erlich – “Sous le Ciel” @ Le Bon Marché

Recently in France, Leandro Erlich reimagined Le Bon Marché’s signature escalators, utilizing his penchant for illusory installations. Following in the footsteps of Ai Weiwei, Edoardo Tresoldi, and Chiharu Shiota, who have all transformed the interiors of the famed Parisian department store, the Argentinian artist added a twist to the escalator’s exterior as well as set up lights inside that changed depending on the hour and season. Recap: Art Rotterdam 2018

This past weekend, from the 8th until the 11th February, the 19th edition of Art Rotterdam took place in the historical Van Nelle factory in the industrial area of one of the Europe’s major port cities. Yoskay Yamamoto // Facebook Artist In Residence Program

Recently, Yoskay Yamamoto (interviewed) became the latest to go through the FB AIR Program. The artist-in-residence initiative saw the Los Angeles-based artist set up one of his signature clustered installations in one of Facebook’s new offices on the Palo Alto campus. Featuring a series of patterned paintings inspired by the LA sky, sculptural pieces, and hanging elements, Cali Sunset was a welcome addition to the creative work environment. Releases: Dabs Myla – “Alphabet Paper Studies”

This morning, Dabs Myla kicked off a 72 hour period in which you can order their Alphabet Paper Studies through their web store. Each piece is hand painted to order allowing collectors to buy multiples letters for initials, names, or anything at all.
