Take a look at this off-the-wall video as a man takes an interactive stop-motion journey through the Art in the Streets exhibition that recently closed. The film was directed by brothers Mark Osborne and Kent Osborne and was made in collaboration with Levi’s Film Workshop (also see Swoon & Neck Face) and Happy Product. Streets: Kenny Scharf @ West Hollywood Library Project (Part III)

After spending four days in Philadelphia last week working on a mural, Kenny Scharf (interviewed) returns to Los Angeles to paint his wall for the West Hollywood Libary Project. It will probably take a couple more days for him to finish, but when it’s done, it will stand alongside murals by RETNA (covered) and Shepard Fairey (more on this tomorrow). Drawing comparisons to his recent mural at the Pasadena Museum of California Art for the Street Cred exhibition (covered), RETNA (featured) lent his street calligraphy to an ambitious new project with Kenny Scharf and Shepard Fairey in Los Angeles. Perhaps KAWS had a sixth sense as to what was going to happen when he placed his Passing Through Companion at The Standard in New York recently. The street art and graffiti community was saddened as news has came today that the Brooklyn Museum has cancelled the scheduled next stop for the current Art in the Streets exhibition currently showing at the MOCA. Last Sunday, AM dropped by the Levi’s Film Workshop, where they were screening the trailer for Born Under a Bad Sign, a film in progress by artist Neck Face and director Isaiah Seret. The upcoming feature-length kung fu horror movie, starring the artist was filmed in his alleyway installation at MOCA’s Art in the Streets exhibition. Those who attended the screening also got to see an extended fight scene (censored for museum audiences) which ended in co-star, Mindy Kelly, being decapitated. Neck Face tossed back […]
