Urban Angel in London currently has a wicked group show entitled “XXI” on view through February 27th. The exhibition features both new and secondary market pieces from over 21 street artists including: Aiko, Anthony Lister, Antony Micallef, Banksy, Bast, Blek Le Rat, DFace, Faile, Herakut, Hush, Judith Supine, Mr. Brainwash, Nick Walker, Sixeart, Swoon, and Titifreak. Banksy @ Dreweatts’ “Urban Art”

Two original works by Banksy, “No Ball Games” and “Go Flock Yourself,” will be auctioned off on February 26th at the London flagship location of Selfridges when they host “Urban Art” in conjunction with auction house Dreweatts. Banksy collectors will surely be keeping a close eye on these two lots to see how prices hold up during this global economic crisis. “No Ball Games,” measuring 91 x 91.5 cm, carries an estimate of Â£30,000-60,000. Banksy – Tourism in the Holy Land

An interesting article came out last week talking about how Banksy’s work from Santa’s Ghetto in Israel had become a tourist attraction. However, some of his work was lost in translation when seen from the eyes of the people living there. For example, one of his most iconic images “Flower Thrower” is revered because it resembles, according to the locals, the angel statue at a nearby church outside the village of Beit Sahour, in Shepherd’s Field. This sign with some Banksy imagery went up recently on Southwark Street in London. Speculation is that this is most likely just a publicity stunt by a company called The Bank. Although, here is another website with a similar logo… either a related company or perhaps there is still an outside chance this was taken by Banksy for an elaborate hoax. POW’s day one of their highly anticipated Open Day event kicked off yesterday to the delight of collectors. A story came out today about a section of wall for sale on ebay that had a Banksy stencil on it from his times in Jamaica.Â The wall is free … but the catch is you have to purchase a set of photographs (one of which seen below) that chronicle the “deconstruction” of the wall – starting bid 100K.Â The photos are entitled “The Rock” taken by photographer Peter Dean Rickards of The Afflicted Yard, presumably the “owner” of the Banksy. Guess who’s back…? Banksy and POW have just released a new print “Nola” for all the fans that have been waiting patiently all year. This print was based on his recent New Orleans work “Rain Girl”. “Are you tired of looking out the window at the grey and the rain? Artists collaborating on album covers is not a new phenomenom, but here is an interesting one from Kanye West that was done by Kaws. Last night, AM had the opportunity to attend a very special event held by Bonhams LA. A unique panel of speakers from different corners of the Urban art genre gathered to discuss the state of the Urban art market and the economics/dynamics of today’s art marketplace.
