Showing: Os Gemeos – “The Bunker” @ Museu Casa do Pontal

Earlier today, Museu Casa do Pontal in Rio de Janeiro unveiled the first ever permanent installation from the Brazilian street savants – Os Gemeos. Entitled The Bunker, the piece features a statue of their famous yellowskinned character enclosed within a concrete bunker. On Saturday, the 31st of January, Museu Casa do Pontal will be inaugurating new work by Brazilian artists Os Gemeos. Created exclusively for this institution, the twins’ first permanent installation will be entitled The Bunker. Yesterday, the long anticipated return of hometown street art heroes happened in Sao Paulo at Galpão Fortes Vilaça when Os Gemeos opened their solo show. Os Gemeos 737 Boeing

After painting a whole train back in 2011, Brazilian brothers and legendary graffiti artists, Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo aka Os Gemeos, recently raised the bar even further. After taking part in This is Not a Toy show (covered) curated by Pharrell Williams, the Argentine collective Doma recently opened an exhibition at Logo Galeria in Sao Paulo. Titled Multiverse, this is their first solo in Brazil, and a big step forward towards introducing their work to a wider crowd. Vhils aka Alexandre Farto recently spent some time in Brazil working with the Guarani tribe in the Piraquara region and creating a new body of work for a show at Caixa Cultural in Curitiba, Brazil.  The Portuguese artist spent some time working with the tribesmen in the Araçaí village, creating works for the show, as well as leaving his mark in the village.
