Streets: World Roundup (Jan 2 – Jan 8)

We have another diverse mix of artists from all around the world for this week’s street roundup. Starting off, check out this collaboration between Bom-K of Da Mental Vaporz & Liliwenn in Ris Orangis, France entitled Trouble Jeu. You can see more of the intricate details here if interested. Openings: C215 – “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes” @ Shooting Gallery

Last Saturday, Shooting Gallery opened the doors to Parisian street stencil artist, C215’s latest solo show, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes (previewed). The show is inspired by cigarette iconography and advertisements that lie and typically depict affluent people enjoying a smoke in order to sell their products to the common folk and working class. The stencil pieces in the show consists of fake adverts that depict everyday people who are actually smoking the cigarettes and are the targets of these corporations, but are never shown. […]

The Underbelly Project (Paris)

As the Underbelly Project preps for the festivities for Art Basel Miami Week, word comes (via Brooklyn Street Art) of another satellite undertaking in Paris. Featuring the same daring tactics as in New York, the smaller French version (also organized by Workhorse and PAC) includes artists Conor Harrington, SheOne, Saber, How & Nosm, C215, Alice Pasquini, Will Barras, Futura, and Tristan Eaton. Preview: C215 – “Smoke gets in your Eyes” @ Shooting Gallery

Prolific Parisian street artist Christian Guemy aka C215 will be presenting a new body of work at the Shooting Gallery in San Francisco on December 10th. Smoke gets in your Eyes will feature his multi-colored works, with the subject matter hinted in the title of the show, and will put his exquisite stenciling ability on display. It’s time for another roundup of the new walls this week here on AM. Although not exactly immediately recent, this mural from Mesa in particular caught our eye. Other murals covered after the jump include C215 (Paris), Escif (France), Sam3 (Germany), Dabs Myla x Remi/Rough (London), Fintan Magee (Melbourne), Teo Doro (Valparaíso), Dimitris Taxis (Spain), and Isaac Cordal (Brussels).

Last Friday, the C.A.V.E. Gallery and Brooklyn Street Art in collaboration with Thinkspace presented an exhibit titled 39 Stories: Street Art Saved My Life.
