Showing: Armsrock – “Impossible Society” @ Vejle Museum of Art

Back in August, we brought you some photos of the work that Armsrock (interviewed) was preparing for Impossible Society, his exhibition at the Vejle Museum of Art in Denmark. The show is now on view through December 4th and really shows a maturity in the Danish artist’s work as well the type of scale that he is painting in now. More photos after the jump…

Releases: James Jean – “Lotus War Pyramid”

That Lotus War Pyramid print from James Jean (featured) that we told you about a couple weeks ago is now available online. For the New Yorkers out there, this new release was sold at Jean’s signing at Reed Space, but now fans everywhere can purchase one for themselves. The five-color, 26 x 30 inch limited edition is signed and numbered and will be produced with a run of 555. A couple more pics after the jump…

Openings: Supakitch – “Clé De Soul” @ Galerie LJ

Brooklyn-based French artist Supakitch recently returned to his home country to open his new show at Paris’ Galerie LJ. The exhibition entitled Clé De Soul is Supa’s first with the gallery, and includes a beautiful collection of his colorful paintings, works on paper and mixed-media pieces. Last weekend, alongside Jeremy Fish, the Mark Moore Gallery also featured the work of Kenichi Yokono. The last time we had an opportunity to take in a large body of work from the Japanese artist, it was 2009 and we were at Art Basel Miami week. Rise of the Underground featured more of his signature carved woodblocks and it was a joy to examine his intricate details close up. FIAC Coverage

Following the Frieze week in London (covered here), AM headed off to Paris to visit the FIAC, the Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain in Paris at the Grand Palais, host to 168 galleries. While Frieze focuses exclusively on contemporary art, the FIAC also combines early 20th century modern art with the contemporary. Of interest, Karl Lagerfeld designed the booth of Zurich’s Gallery Gmurzynska for the Rebels curated by Isabelle Bscher and featuring Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lucio Fontana, Yves Klein, Andy Warhol as well as Banksy and Scott Campbell.
