The Frieze Art Fair is soon upon us. Occupying Team Gallery’s booth at Frieze will be a group show consisting of a few of their represented artists. Among them is Ryan McGinley, who will be showing photos from his most recent road trip, as well as more b&w studio portraits of models with exotic animals. Sometimes it’s good to take a second look. That’s what happened when we did a double-take at Sputnik Gallery and discovered Irina Davis. When we first passed by her alluring works, we thought they were simply painted pin-up model pieces. But then upon closer inspection, we noticed that they were real models in pin-up poses. Fans will be happy to know that they are continuing their respected line featuring prominent artists with John Baldessari. Kaws recently opened his “Passing Through” exhibition in Tsim Sha Tsui at the popular Harbour City complex in Hong Kong.
