Streets: Ron English – “Badvertisements” @ Welling Court Mural Project

Our friend Ron English just sent us some images from his latest endeavor at the Welling Court Mural Project. Utilizing his classic sarcastic wit, he answers the question “does advertising work on me?” with a series of acerbic yet hilarious ads. There are plenty of other artist involved with the project in Queens such as Chris Stain, Dan Witz, Michael De Feo, Swoon, Gaia, Ellis G., Remi/Rough, Tristan Eaton, Sweet Toof among many others with the opening tomorrow, Saturday, May 22nd from 4-10PM. Jeff Soto x Pearl Jam

Jeff Soto (interviewed) recently shared a project he has been working on – a Pearl Jam poster for a concert that played yesterday at the Madison Square Garden. He also nicely summarized his process for creating a screen print for those who are interested.. Starting early this year, Polo Jeans Co. Ralph Lauren began commissioning artists all over Europe to customize star shaped “canvases” made from denim. As one of the cornerstones of the Pop Art movement, Roy Lichtenstein left behind a legacy of phenomenal art that has influence much of the art, design, and marketing that surrounds us today. Tom French is a young artist whose work we’ve been enjoying for a little while.
