On Saturday night, Evan Hecox premiered his first solo, “The Last Thousand Years,” (previewed) in New York. Joshua Liner Gallery was filled with fans eager to get a glimpse of his work. The Vietnamese themed show dazzled onlookers as Evan took the time greet and draw for many of his fans with his book “Urban Abstract” in hand. Studio Visits / Interviews: Mike Stilkey

Los Angeles based fine artist Mike Stilkey will be having a solo exhibition at David B. Smith Gallery in Denver, CO, this coming Friday, September 18th, from 7-10pm with Stilkey in attendance at the opening reception. This is Stilkey’s first solo show with this gallery and the artist will have 20 new pieces, including book sculptures and paintings, and he will also be creating an impressive on-site installation. Openings: Brian Donnelly – “Blasphemies, Monstrosities, & Other Perversions @ Show & Tell Gallery

We recently previewed a couple of pieces from Brian Donnelly’s solo outing “Blasphemies, Monstrosities, & Other Perversions,” which opened last week at Show and Tell Gallery in Toronto.  We thought the pieces we saw looked like a strong indication that Donnelly would be putting together a compelling body of work. Releases: Shepard Fairey x Michael Jordan x Upper Deck – Hall of Fame Tribute Series

We recently tipped you off about the upcoming Michael Jordan Hall of Fame Tribute Series created by Shepard Fairey and Upper Deck. Now the final two images have been revealed. The first is of his Hall of Fame induction portrait and second of his “Air-ness” in his UNC blue days. The first release is the complete set (signed by both Jordan and Shepard) available on ObeyGiant.com tomorrow, Sept 17th. Topics included themes in his works, his influences and inspirations, and the use of symbolism.
