Leading off this week’s summary of videos is this time-lapse (via Savage Habit) from the Volvo Switzerland as seven Chinese artists paint and repaint the new Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid. The event was held at the Zurich Main Station and featured the work of Shadow Chen, Wang Meng, Sally Zou, Honghua, Hua Tunan, Left, Shan Jiang & MEGAMUNDEN. Streets: World Roundup (July 23 – July 29)

This week’s roundup sees the return of David Ellis to the streets after the massive mural painted in Brooklyn last month. This latest tree piece was commissioned by Converse as part of they Wall to Wall campaign and features Ellis’ sinuous pattern (photo by Justin Carlson and courtesy of Joshua Liner Gallery). Coming up in September, the Thinkspace Gallery will be presenting a show from Australian duo Dabs Myla. Openings: “Wild At Heart” @ Thinkspace

A couple Saturdays ago, the Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City hosted the opening for Wild at Heart, a benefit show where some of the proceeds went towards Born Free USA. The group exhibition featured artists and their choice of endangered species to paint or work with leading to some great pieces being created. Rewind: May 21 – May 27

Currently showing at Fondation Beyeler is the first exhibition ever devoted by a Swiss museum to American artist Jeff Koons. The show runs until September 2, 2012 and features a focus on three bodies of works: The New, Banality, and Celebration. Detroit Beautification Project

A project that was first hinted at here appears to have come to fruition in the Motor City. We have already shared works from Sever and Reyes for the Detroit Beautification Project, but now we have a closer look at the multitude of artists (many of them MSK affiliated) and the murals they painted centered mostly in Hamtramck. Openings: Dabs Myla – “Break Night Lovers” @ Known Gallery

Last weekend, deep in the heart of Los Angeles, the Known Gallery unveiled the latest work from the locally based duo, Dabs Myla. Break Night Lovers featured drawings, paintings, art objects, and a whimsical installation mimicking the inside of house complete with a fridge, painted stove, TV, table, chairs, and more. Executed in the Aussie couple’s signature cartoonish style, the showspace looked like the set of an animated feature where inanimate objects came to life whether painted on walls or in a three-dimensional form. Preview: Dabs Myla – “Break Night Lovers” @ Known Gallery

Tomorrow night (May 5th), Known Gallery will be the place to be if you are interested in seeing the newest solo show from Dabs Myla. Break Night Lovers will feature the duo from down under’s cartoonish stylings executed in the form of new paintings, drawings, and installations.
