Italian artist and illustrator Marco Mazzoni opened a solo show last night with Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan, Italy. As we mentioned in the preview for this show, this is Marco’s 1st solo show in a city where he has been working and living in for years. Along with medium-scale colored pencil paper drawings, moleskin paper drawings, and a site-specific installation that was announced for this show, the artist had another three mini moleskine books exhibited with three drawings that matched the theme and the spirit of this show. AM caught up with How & Nosm in San Francisco just as they were completing their piece on the corner Hyde & Turk in a gated parking lot in the Tenderloin. The New York-based twins have been working at a lightning pace to make the most out of the daylight during their short stay in town. As this year’s POW WOW draws to a close this weekend, murals that artists have been working on all week are nearing completion. We’ll be bringing you a look at many of these pieces soon, starting first with an epic collaboration between Dabs Myla, 123Klan, Slick, Askew, and Roid. Studio Visit: Melissa Haslam – “Floating Garden” @ LeBasse Projects

Returning to the botanical imagery that she has worked on in the past, painter Melissa Haslam (featured) will be opening a show at LeBasse Projects on March 2nd. Entitled Floating Garden, the new body of work will highlight how the Melbourne-based artist has furthered refined her form of portraiture. Last week, New York artist Rostarr (featured) unveiled his latest body of work in Mexico City at Anonymous Gallery. This inspiring series of paintings entitled Turbo Arena draws from his hypnotic signature style that is a smooth mash-up of iconography, graphics & calligraphy.
