Streets: Blu Buffing His Own Murals In Bologna

After buffing his murals in Berlin back in December 2015, protesting against gentrification of the area, Blu just started erasing all of his murals in Bologna. Backed up by his friends from the XM24 and Crash collectives, many murals were destroyed over night and more are being deleted today. The reason for such drastic action is an upcoming show Street Art: Banksy & Co. – L’Arte allo Stato Urbano, opening on the 18th of March in his hometown. Promoted by the most important bank foundation in town […]

Streets: Okuda (Morocco)

After painting the impressive Kaos Temple few months ago in Spain (covered), Okuda San Miguel recently got an opportunity to paint another place of worship, with the result being pretty impressive. Located in Youssoufia, Morocco, the church was completely covered with the imagery of the prolific Spanish artist for the Street Art Caravane event. The finished work titled 11 Mirages to the Freedom consists of 11 main characters that are incorporated in the architectural sections of the building itself. With bright yellow as the background, Okuda covered the building with his geo shapes and familiar […]

Streets: Ella & Pitr (Norway)

After successfully painting what was billed as the world’s largest outdoor mural (covered) for last year’s NuArt Festival, French artists Ella & Pitr recently returned to Norway to create couple of new pieces in and around Stavanger. This time, they painted another giant in the center of the city, taking a tumble in a dilapidated four-story building. The harsh weather conditions and rough setting didn’t stop these dedicated artists from creating another landmark mural in Norway’s oil capital and street art mecca. After this, they continued to nearby Sola […]

Streets: Phlegm (New Zealand) – Part II

Phlegm has made good use of his visit to New Zealand to get up some of his signature imagery. Along with a piece in Dunedin, he also painted a larger piece in Wellington on the side of a building where sound heads were made for movie projectors. He incorporated one of his characters with one of these devices as one of the elements that formed a large head. Take a look at more photos below… Photo credit: StreetKiwi (via StreetArtNews). Streets: Phlegm (New Zealand) – Part I

Recently in Dunedin, New Zealand, the ever busy Phlegm finished a new mural on the side of a structure featuring some of his signature characters riding a Giant Moa. The striking image features the long extinct flightless bird endemic to the area that could grow to 12 feet tall and weighed about 500 lbs. Of course, when magnified by the Sheffield-based artist, it looks even more impressive. Take a look at more detailed photos below… Photo credit: StreetKiwi (via StreetArtNews). Discuss Phlegm here.

Streets/Installation: Nipper “Mission Directives” (Stavanger)

It’s no secret that people behind one of the oldest street art festivals, Nuart in Stavanger, always go for the artists with the freshest ideas and something to say. So, their newest project with the Bergen-based artist Nipper, is only a continuation of their worthy legacy to bring art out of museums, galleries and public institutions onto the city streets to become part of people’s everyday lives. Mission Directives consist of small scale installations that promote the sharing economy and citizen-led communication in public space. Significantly different to the large scale murals […]
