Over the weekend, Shows & Tell Gallery in Toronto opened a two person exhibition, Double Rainbow Rainbow (previewed), a smart curatorial pairing of two woman that each play with color in distinct and effective ways. There will be an interesting pairing of artists tomorrow night at the Shows & Tell Gallery in Toronto with a new exhibition entitled Double Rainbow Rainbow opening. Jen Stark, who is known for her intricately beautiful paper cuttings will be showing alongside NYC-based Maya Hayuk.  Both have shown their mastery in working with colorful patterns – Stark in the three-dimensional and Hayuk in paintings. José Parlá, whose artwork is rarely exhibited in Los Angeles, will soon provide the West Coast with a spectacular visual treat as Martha Otero will feature his massively-sized (42″ by 116.5″) Flux in their Legal Tender group exhibition.  Other artists in the show include: E.V. Tonight, a special show is opening up at Subliminal Projects. “Subject / Subject” is a show centered around showcasing some long time favorite and also upcoming female artists in a benefit for the Downtown Women’s Center. Basel Week Miami ’09 – Jen Stark @ SCOPE

The AM crew stopped by the SCOPE Fair to take a look at the geometric paper sculptures by Jen Stark during Art Basel Week. The Miami-based artist was showing off her eye-catching pieces of what appear to be precise paper cutouts at the Carol Jazzar Gallery booth.
