The book catalogs 17 exhibitions over the past 12 years with a Who’s-Who of contemporary urban art: Adam Neate, Jose Parla, Phil Frost, Anthony Lister, Futura, James Marshall (Dalek), Boris Tellegen (DELTA), Mark Dean Veca, Ron English,  Space Invader, Stash and WK Interact. Already revved up from the Gen Art Vanguard Gala (Here)… Friday night got even more crazy as DJ Diabetic and Ztrip tag teamed the turntables for a packed Shore Club in South Beach. AM was in attendance Saturday night for the opening of Jose Parla’s first NYC solo show, entitled Layered Days at Cristina Grajales. In addition to the caligraphic abstract paintings and watercolors for which Parla has earned his reputation as one of urban art’s most sought-after artists, the exhibition also included several beautiful ceramic works, made in collaboration with the Ichi-Yo Gama family-owned Bizen-yaki factory in Japan.
