Before heading to New York for his big solo at the new Galerie Perrotin location in November, KAWS will be taking a side trip to Philadelphia for a show opening on October 11th at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA). With this year’s Video Music Awards from MTV only several days away, installation has already started for the event. KAWS – “GISWIL” @ More Gallery

With Art Basel opening next week in Switzerland, the art world is gearing up for another round of festivities after barely recovering from the Hong Kong version. One of the associated shows that we are looking forward to is KAWS’ GISWIL at More Gallery. Along a massive wooden companions with “Pinocchio noses,” paintings from the American artist will also be on display. Yesterday saw the opening of Asia’s preeminent art fair, Art Basel Hong Kong, housed in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center (HKCEC). With a strong tilt towards galleries based in the region, the fair boasted over 170 booths with a plethora of worthy art for collectors and fans to enjoy.
