This week’s Rewind summary article of videos features a wide range of subjects. Leading things off is some behind-the-scenes footage of body artist Emma Hack’s depiction of a car crash with the help of painted human bodies  (via Juxtapoz). Every year, legions of people from around the nation flock to NYC for a little Thanksgiving time with friends & family. During this busy holiday weekend, one of the traditions is the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. The day before the parade, tens of thousands visit the staging area to observe the balloon inflation ceremony next to the American Museum of Natural History. KAWS x MTA wraparounds

Readers in New York should keep on the lookout for special trains decked out in KAWS imagery leading up to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. If you remember, the NY-based artist will have his Companion character realized as a 40-foot-long balloon for the parade and now has designed a matching look for the MTA Times Square Shuttle (3 whole cars inside and out). Officially opening their doors just hours ago, Galerie Perrotin in Paris unveiled all new works from the NY-based KAWS in his highly anticipated solo Imaginary Friends. Highlights of the show included multiples of his running chum canvases (also replicated as showcards making a nice souvenir) as well as creatively-shaped irregular piece that appeared to be mirrored in a more conventional painting right next to it – leading to an interesting side by side comparison. Come later next month, those who will be watching the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will see KAWS’ iconic Companion character float by as a 40-foot-long balloon. Coming up next month (November 3rd), Galerie Perrotin will be presenting new works from KAWS in a solo show entitled Imaginary Friends. Back in May, the NY-based Donnelly had exhibited at the blue-chip gallery’s Hong Kong showspace (covered here & here), and now to follow it up, he will fill the Paris branch with his pop culture-infused abstractions.
