Recap: Art Basel ’15 (Part II)

Last week, AM visited Basel Week Switzerland, with the highlight being the main fair – Art Basel. After the first part of our coverage earlier this week, we now have a second set of photos for you to enjoy fro the 46th edition of the fair. KAWS Designs Trophy For SpongeBob SquarePants 400 Nascar Race

Continuing to raise his profile and to familiarize the general public with his signature imagery, KAWS has teamed up with NASCAR to design the trophy for the SpongeBob SquarePants 400 coming up at the Kansas Speedway on May 9th (although it might be delayed due to the weather). Foundation ArtZuid is currently finishing organizing 2015 edition of their International Sculpture Route in Amsterdam. ArtZuid is an open air sculpture biennial with this year’s route consisting of about 73 monumental outdoor sculptures placed through the Berlage’s Art Deco district in Amsterdam South, just outside the city center. Highlights: Frieze Art Fair (London)

One of the leading international contemporary art fairs, Frieze London, returned to the heart of the UK’s capital, London’s Regent’s Park, for its 12th edition. This year’s event brings together 162 of the world’s top contemporary galleries to the UK and features exhibitors from 25 countries. Along with the launch of Frieze Art Week in London was the opening of the Frieze Sculpture Park, curated by Clare Lilley, Director of Programme at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
