Releases: KAWS – “GONE” Figures

Later today (Sept 24th), 12 noon Eastern Time to be exact, KAWS will be releasing his latest vinyl collectible on his website. Modeled after a monumental new bronze sculpture recently revealed at his museum show at the National Gallery of Victoria, GONE will be offered in three different color ways. The sculpt first created for his show last year in New York (covered) features the Brooklyn-based artist’s famous Companion figure holding one of his BFF characters in a way that harkens back to Michelangelo’s Pietà. Releases: Saber – “LA River” Print

With the release of the LA River print from SABER (interviewed), fans have a chance to own a part of graffiti history. The LA writer was recently on the TV show To Tell The Truth, which put a spotlight on the Los Angeles River piece he painted in 1997 (hailed as the world’s largest graffiti piece at the time). The large format edition of 100 is sized at 24 x 35 inches with an embellished signature and can be purchased here. Discuss Saber here.

Recently at Complexcon in Chicago, Felipe Pantone was on hand to present his collaboration with Hennessy on his design for the V.S Cognac Bottle. Featuring his special form of glitch effects and optical art, the event featured original pieces, wall graphics from the project, as well as samples of the product, kicking off with the help of rapper A$AP Ferg. The Argentinian-Spanish artist follows in the line of some distinguished artists such as Kaws, Futura, Os Gemeos, Shepard Fairey, Ryan McGinness, and Scott Campbell who have previously worked on the bottle. Releases: Todd James – “Tank Pool Float”

Just in time for summer, Todd James has released one of his iconic characters as an inflatable for your pool time enjoyment. The Tank Pool Float, available through Case Studyo, comes in an edition of 200 and costs €302.50 (including VAT). Releases: Aron Wiesenfeld – “The Bridge” Print

Based on a haunting painting from Aron Wiesenfeld’s recently closed show in Pasadena (covered), his latest print features a girl on a snow covered bridge midway between two worlds. The Bridge is time limited release and is available here now until 7:59 AM PDT on Friday, June 7th, never to be produced again. In celebration of Mark Whalen’s (featured) sold out exhibition Ramble Ramble (covered) at their Los Angeles space, Over The Influence will be holding a closing reception this Sunday, May 26th (3-6 PM). The event will also include the release of a sculptural edition entitled Unread (in pink and blue color ways), small scale versions of the heads that feature prominently in the Australian-born artist’s work. Continuing his collaboration with Case Studyo, Josh Sperling is set to release a new edition featuring his signature geometric forms. Entitled Friend, the fiberglass mirror topped with the New York-based artist’s sinuous curves will be limited to 60 each of the blue and red variants.
