Besides a group exhibition featuring a great list of artists, a DJ set by Talib Kweli, and a chance to benefit the Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, attendees may also want to attend the Branded Arts extravaganza tonight at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood because of a print release from SABER (interviewed). Entitled City Of Lights, the 36″ x 16″ regular edition based on the original painting, which will also be exhibited, will have a run of 24. Upcoming: Elbow-Toe Open Studio / Print Release

Today and tomorrow in Brooklyn, Elbow-Toe (interviewed) will be participating in the Gowanus Open Studios. Those interested in his unique process involving shards of cut paper in place of brush strokes may want to head over today from 12 pm – 5:20 pm and on Sunday from 12 pm – 6 pm to chat with him and take a look at his work in person. Ed Templeton recently released his latest photography book titled Wayward Cognitions, published by Thomas Campbell’s Um Yeah Arts, showing 20 years worth of capturing street life in it’s purest, rawest form. The skateboarding legend, artist and photographer, whose books such as Teenage Smokers and Teenage Kissers influenced a whole generation of young photographers, this time published a book that isn’t capturing or exploring a certain theme, but gives a good peek inside his extensive archives. Releases: KAWS – “PRESENTING THE PAST” Print

In less than an hour, KAWS will be releasing a new limited edition off his website entitled PRESENTING THE PAST. Those who attended his current exhibition in Hong Kong (or saw the photos), may have noticed the screenprint hanging in the gallery. Releasing online this Friday at 13 Press is a limited edition, signed and numbered neon by one of the masters of the craft, Patrick Martinez. The plug-in and functional object measures 13″ x 8″, is an edition of 20, signed, and will retail for $575. Some of our friends behind POW! WOW! recently started Big Bad Wolf with the goal of bringing street inspired fashion, art and culture down to the little ones. Their current plan is to release a limited edition artist tee once a month and kickstarting things is a design by Yoskay Yamamoto (interviewed). Tomorrow, September 17th, at 16:00 BST, Conor Harrington (interviewed) will be releasing a new print through The Outsiders. Entitled Unveiling, the new image is taken from a new painting for his popup show opening on September 27th in New York at a still undisclosed location. During his time in New York, he also hosted the official NYC launch of his signature design for this year’s Hennessy V.S Limited Edition artist bottle at ARENA.
