Showing: Agents of Change – ‘Unfolding’ @ David Bloch Gallery

International art collective Agents of Change recently opened a group showing at David Bloch Gallery in Marrakech. Entitled Unfolding, the showing brought together Steve More, Derm, Carlos Mare, LX One, Remi Rough and Jaybo. The AoC cast is ever expanding and contains different styles of art brought in by the widely cast influences of the collective group. Unfolding focuses of just six of the whole twelve, and hones down on some of the more angular, geometrically inspired members of the collective. Painting, collage and sculpture combine within […]

Streets: Joker / Shok-1 / Remi Rough (London)

There seems to be a whole lot of muralising going on around the Futurism 2.0 exhibition we previewed earlier this week with a host of out-of-town artists in London for the show (which opens on Thursday 27th September) such as Joker aka Jerry Inscoe from Transcend. Keep your eyes peeled for more action in the coming days. This collaboration between Joker, Shok-1 and Remi Rough works particularly well, and was completed over the last 2 days.

Openings: “Space//Form” @ Breeze Block Gallery (Part 2)

Following directly on from Part 1 of our coverage of the busy Space//Form opening, AM now delves a little deeper pictorially into the artwork created for this huge group exhibition of 110 artists with a series of pictures where the art is more viewable (like the Mark Dean Veca installation above). To recap, all of the participating artists were given an identical 10×10 inch cradled timber panel by exhibition sponsor Ampersand as the medium to work on. The exhibition curator, Arrested Motion’s Sven Davis chose a brief […]

Preview: “Space//Form” Group Exhibition @ Breeze Block Gallery

As the opening of the Space//Form group exhibition draws ever nearer, and following on from our studio view, AM brings you a glimpse of some of the work in this huge show. Over 100 artists are participating in the exhibit, which opens on 6th September at Breeze Block Gallery in Portland. The artists were each given the same brief and the same materials to work with and asked to explore and represent their interpretation of space and form within either the natural or built environment. Each piece of […]

Update: Space//Form Group Exhibition @ Breeze Block Gallery

One of the most interesting things about curating a group exhibition of over 100 artists is getting to see behind the scenes as the artists develop their work for the show (Chloe Early seen above). Updates come constantly as the participants share their excitement about creating work for the show, and getting to see  some of the creative process that goes into the work is always a pleasure. Space//Form opens in just a couple of weeks time now in Portland at Breeze Block Gallery and here […]

Upcoming: “Space//Form” @ Breeze Block Gallery

Following our recently curated group exhibitions in Hong Kong; East West Connect and Los Angeles; City of Fire, AM’s UK correspondent Sven Davis has branched out with his own curatorial endeavour Space//Form. The group exhibition brings together over 100 young contemporary artists, and opens 6th September at Portland’s Breeze Block Gallery. Curator, Sven Davis, has worked in architecture for over 20 years, so the thematic center of the exhibition is close to his heart as Space//Form centers around notions of the architectural landscape. Each of the […]

Preview: “Streets of the World” @ Opera Gallery (NY)

Tomorrow night (May 11th), if you are in New York, you may want to head over for the public opening of Streets of the World, a rare street art show that includes such diverse and long list of participants. Spanning the globe, the Opera Gallery has chosen forty artists who have made their name with their public art whether it be legally or illegally created. The list includes Banksy (above), Anthony Lister, Rone, Kid Zoom, ROA, Dal East, Blek le Rat, Herakut, How and Nosm, […]

Showing: ‘Unintended Calculations’ @ Becker Galleries, Vancouver

Augustine Kofie, Jerry Inscoe, Remi/Rough and Scott Sueme were recently brought together for Unintended Calculations, an exhibition well curated by Indigo at Becker Galleries in Vancouver. The group of painters make for a dynamic combination, and each of the foursome presented post-graffiti inspired by abstract expressionism within their work. As well as the gallery exhibition, the artists took to the streets of Vancouver for some commissioned murals, which you can see here, courtesy of Graffuturism. Check out more shots from the gallery after the jump, […]

Streets: LX One & Remi/Rough in Strasbourg

Two parts of the Agents of Change collective – LX One and Remi/Rough – were recently in Strasbourg to paint a large wall as part of the 10th anniversary party for French-cool store RZO. The combination of Remi’s abstract work alongside LX’s geometric patterns caught our eyes when we saw some photos of the work like the one above. AM asked Remi about the trip and he sent us a mini-travelogue. Check it out along with some more flicks from LX One after the jump.
