Last weekend in Los Angeles, Kohn Gallery hosted the opening of Ryan McGinness second solo with them with a new body of work entitled #metadata. With this new showing, the New York-based artist presented a interesting installation featuring his distance imagery as well as two new series of works – Studio Views and Screen Combines. New Group Show @ Library Street Collective

On February 27th, the Library Street Collective will be opening a group show at their Detroit space featuring a diverse selection of artists spanning different genres. Included on the roster are Adrian Falkner, AJ Fosik, Cleon Peterson, Faile, Hacer, Kelsey Brookes, Mars-1, POSE, REVOK, Ryan McGinness (seen above), Sam Friedman, Shepard Fairey, and Swoon. It’s summertime and anticipation is growing for the next Hennessy VS cognac bottle with this year being the 250th anniversary for the world’s largest and most storied cognac maker. Leading things off on this edition of our Streets: World Roundup is this new mural from Vhils (via Hookedblog) for the Phytology Project. The wall is situated on a side street just off Bethnal Green Road (the station end) in the Bethnal Green Nature Reserve and is part of a series of year-long artist commissions taking place in the reserve. The Miami Project successfully launched its second rendition during Basel week with a well-curated selection of U.S. galleries, including such notable names as Yossi Milo, Joshua Liner, Mark Moore, Richard Heller and David B. Smith. Located in the Wynwood Arts District, the young art fair focused on primary representation of emerging and mid-career artists, which was a nice counterpoint to its much larger neighbor, Art Miami. Recently, Ryan McGinness unveiled a custom black light ping-pong table that he designed for SPiN Standard at The Standard, Downtown LA. The New York-based artist stuck true to his graphic style for this custom table, utilizing his trademark iconography and design aesthetics to convey a complex and poetic concept.
